I arrived at the 2012 Craft and Hobby Association show today and got a sneak peek at some really amazing new products that are launching at this show.
More updates soon, but here’s what we are getting really excited about seeing tomorrow:
1. Brand new Ranger and Tim Holtz products.
2. New lines from Darice including what looks to be new wedding craft and jewelry supply products designed by wedding guru David Tuterra and style expert, actress, and supermom, Tori Spelling!
3. Crafts and mixed media project ideas from design teams across the board in the Designers Showcase. We also met Erika, who designs on the Helmar design team today and can’t wait to check out what they’ve been busy making for the show!
(here’s her blog – check it out!)
And a LOT more!
We’ll be updating throughout the day when the show floor officially opens with photos and more so check back tomorrow and let us know if there’s anything you can’t wait to see!

If you have never seen this video, it really is quite amazing to watch Althea work with what I can only guess are tapestry needles (you know, the ones with the not-so-sharp tips for working embroidery thread into a tapestry.) EVERY little stitch is done by hand (or ‘fingertip’ really)…if you think it took you a long time to make your sister that pretty scarf for Christmas, try this one on for size!
This is impressive not just because the work is beautiful, but Althea Crome’s work seems to be as much a creative outlet as it is an impossible zen exercise.

This is one of my favorite little tips for customizing framed artwork…just strip it! My little sister recently bought her first house…As a gift,...
