I’ve heard people say that Valentines Day is a “made up” holiday for the purpose of selling greeting cards.  Well, maybe so…but it doesn’t have to be.

Flowers die and Whitman’s Samplers mysteriously disappear (in to my belly.) This year, make your valentine something to show you appreciate him putting up with all your girl movie watching and “Can you believe she did that!?” stories.

Check this out: I made this card for my husband on our first or second Valentine’s Day before we were married. I think it referenced a joke from the show “The Office” or something (IT IS YOUR BIRTHDAY…) I don’t really even remember. But he loved it and it has been on his fridge (now our fridge) ever since. It captured a moment in time when we looked just like that and was made with art supplies I had around the house.

Here are some other ideas I LOVE for Valentine’s Day gifts that last:

    1. A Permanent Love Note

I love that this is embroidered to look like lined paper AND that she calls her love a very formal “Mr. Wilson.” hee hee

    2 The “Pop-Up Word Card”

This is the kind of card with enough visual interest to keep on your desk all year.

    3. Make Them An Amigurumi Action Figure

Maybe your love is truly one of a kind. Make them an Amigurumi action figure in their likeness!
