Rag quilts are just cool aren’t they? Not only are they a fabulous way to use scrap material (even clothes and old concert tees,) they also make great gifts on a budget. I personally love the little ruffle made by the unfinished edge after washing it — so adorable! This tutorial is one of the best I’ve seen with lots of pictures and clear steps – Kara, on her blog Creations By Kara, shows step-by-step how to make this very simple sewing craft in no time flat! The quilt she shows in the how-to is a baby sized rag quilt, but there is no reason you can’t make it bigger to fit any size bed.
And the sewing couldn’t be easier – all straight stitches and no intricate piecing (which I don’t really have the patience for with all the Black Friday shopping planning happening in our house right now.) Yay!
